Stukken Tafel

Very large table made up of smaller tables

Read moreRead less

A group of people that’s bound to grow and shrink in number asks itself what it’s supposed to do with a table that always has exactly the same amount of seats around it. Sometimes only a small piece of such a table would be just right. So you won’t have to eat alone at the great plains of an empty table, or because you’d like to talk separately, just the two of you. Or sometimes, you’d like to be able to tear the table into smaller pieces, to create more edges and seat more people.

A big table, made up of separate strips of table, that can be pulled apart into groups of tables, or separate tables, or long buffet tables for banquets and parties. Each strip has a wooden top made of retired rubber trees. The legs, like trestles, are fitted at the end of each strip. Bended from crude steel pipes in a form that allows you to sit around the table, at the head or at the sides. Chunks Table. Literally chunks of table. A table that can grow over the years, as long as the room stays big enough while stocks last.
