For questions regarding this statement and our policy, you may contact Thomas Roelandts or Steven Schreurs at info@margearchitecten.be. For inquiries beyond general information, we may ask you to identify yourself to ensure that we are providing the requested information to the right person.
When and for what purposes does MARGE Architecten collect and process data?
MARGE Architecten collects and processes your data when you engage us as a client or otherwise contact us. We refer to these activities collectively as "client management" and they relate specifically to the execution of the projects we undertake for you.
If you are a supplier, we process your data or that of your contact persons in the context of product or service delivery under the purpose of “supplier administration.”
We also process your data, whether as a client or supplier, when issuing invoices and accounting documents. This falls under the purpose of “accounting.”
In some cases, we process your data as a prospect (a person who has not yet contacted or contracted us) with the intent to present our services to you ("direct marketing").
Lastly, we may process data about you because it is or could be relevant to our activities, e.g., to seek your advice or services. We define this activity as “communication” or “public relations.”
What data does MARGE Architecten collect and process?
This includes the data you provide and the data we need to execute your project: name, address, email address, professional details (such as company name and VAT number), family composition, national registry number (for permit applications), and other relevant information.
Typically, you provide these details directly, but we may also receive them from your partners or collaborators.
We may also collect data about your interests or plans for a future project.
Financial data is processed for accounting purposes.
Information about your role and activities may be used for communication or public relations purposes.
How does MARGE Architecten collect your data?
We collect your data through (paper or electronic) forms, or via conversations, phone calls, or email exchanges.
Typically, we receive your data directly. Occasionally, we may receive it indirectly—for example, from suppliers regarding their employees.
In the case of direct marketing, we may receive your data from third parties, in which case we will inform you of the data source.
What are the legal grounds for data processing?
Generally, we collect and process your data based on the contractual relationship we have with you. This is also the basis for supplier and accounting data processing.
If the processing is not essential for executing a contract (e.g., for marketing or public relations), it is based on our legitimate business interests (e.g., freedom of enterprise and information). We always ensure a fair balance between our interests and yours—for instance, by giving you the right to object.
Are data shared with third parties?
Your data is mainly processed internally for client management, supplier management, accounting, and communication/public relations by the relevant staff.
For specific tasks, we may share your data with processors working under our supervision.
In some cases, we are legally obliged to share your data, e.g., with public authorities entitled to request it. We ensure that any such requests meet legal conditions.
Your data is not normally transferred to third countries or international organizations.
If we use cloud services, data may be stored on servers in third countries, accessible only by us. In such cases, the provider will be based in a country with an adequate protection level or will have signed an agreement to ensure your rights are safeguarded.
Your rights
You may access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time by contacting Thomas Roelandts or Steven Schreurs at info@margearchitecten.be, providing proof of your identity to avoid unauthorized access.
If we process your data for direct marketing, you may object at any time by contacting us via the same email address.
If you disagree with how MARGE Architecten processes your data, you may file a complaint with the Data Protection Authority (www.privacycommission.be), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels.
