Gert Brulmans is an architect with over ten years of experience in the field, with a strong focus on new construction, renovation and heritage. He combines architectural design with research-based assignments, consistently opting for a thoughtful and sustainable approach.
Within his practice, heritage forms an important pillar. At the same time, the same care for context and quality is applied to new buildings and extensive renovations. Designs and studies always depart from a respect for what already exists, with attention to authenticity, sustainability and future-oriented use.
In addition to his own practice, he regularly collaborates with fellow architects. Bringing together different areas of expertise leads to stronger projects. Working in a coworking environment such as Hatch naturally aligns with this approach.

Façon Camille
Interior designer façon Camille believes in small interventions with big impact — and that compact living can be grand, too.
She adds colour, texture, the right piece of furniture or a clever custom detail to make interiors feel just right — so that you'll never want to leave your home again.
Camille loves vibrant colours and playful twists that give a space character. Her designs reflect the unique personality of the resident or user and create warm, inviting places — like the CEVAC meeting room or the 29m² studio by the sea, featured on Never Too Small.
She’s fascinated by small spaces and compact living. With a thoughtful design and personalised mood boards, she believes even the tiniest spaces can become surprisingly grand and atmospheric.
At façon Camille, you can get a one-off interior scan, a creative concept, or a full-scale interior design — tailored to your needs and wishes.

Xudo
Business Intelligence Specialist Wouter Trappers sees real value in working from a coworking space filled with architects. Both fields are about designing solid structures — one with data, the other with bricks and concrete.
Architects think in terms of space and function, which inspires Wouter to make his data solutions more visual and user-friendly. At the same time, he learns from their project management and client-focused mindset, sharpening his own approach.
And who knows — a chat at the coffee machine might spark a great collaboration or fresh perspective on his data architecture.
So yes, Hatch isn’t just a cosy place to work — it’s a hub of inspiration and new possibilities! Curious? Read how Wouter helps his clients get more value from their data: https://xudo.be

Ann Pauwelijn Interieur
After her studies, Ann Pauwelijn designed ship cabins. In extremely compact spaces, she pieced together sleeping, storage and desk zones like a puzzle. She then spent fifteen years honing her craftsmanship in an interior design shop, furnishing homes and developing bespoke interiors for both private clients and companies.
For several years now, Ann has focused her interior practice on custom-made design. She combines visual calm with playful accents and timeless tones. Like no other, she intuitively grasps what her clients are looking for and brings coherence to their interiors. Her designs fit their inhabitants as perfectly as a favourite outfit.

Atelier Zaag
Tina Peirlinck graduated as an architect but felt the urge to learn more and decided to specialise in timber construction in Finland. She then did an apprenticeship with a furniture maker in Kivenlahti, where she brought her own furniture collection to life.
Tina found her passion in timber construction and woodworking, which led to the founding of her company atelier ZAAG.
Atelier ZAAG. is a design studio focused on small-scale timber frame construction and renovation. The play of spatiality and the integration of interior design as part of architecture are central to her work.

Enso
Ensō through Architecture emerges where architecture, environmental awareness and development converge. At Ensō Architecture, sensory experience is central: designing spaces that slow us down and support mental well-being.
Ensō Calculations makes the CO₂ impact of building visible, connecting care for space with care for the planet.
In Ensō Living, both come together in the development of homes that are consciously designed and demonstrably CO₂-neutral.

HATCH: in short
Why?
HATCH is the coworking space for emerging architectural talent. You don’t have to figure everything out on your own. There are 15,000 architects in Belgium—you might as well spend some time among a few of them. Every coworking space shares space and general knowledge. At HATCH, we’re all in the same field, which means we can also share specific expertise.
Who?
Diverse profiles connected to the architecture sector are welcome: (interior) architects, landscape or garden designers, engineers, contractors, all kinds of designers. HATCH offers a landing place for creatives who are starting out, scaling up, or for offices looking for a hub in Ghent to complement their headquarters.
What?
A fully equipped coworking space, just like you'd expect from a professional setup. You get access to multiple meeting rooms, different types of workstations, a supply room, a fully equipped model workshop and a lunch area—all in a spacious, daylight-filled office.
Plus, you gain access to field-specific knowledge. Think contracts, contractors, construction details... Shared in formal ways—like weekly seminars, a material and book library, and member communication channels—and informal ones: monthly Down The Hatch afterwork events, lunch chats or coffee corner conversations.
Where?
In the Dok Noord complex in Ghent. A dynamic place, surrounded by amenities like sports clubs and supermarkets. Easily reachable by bike, car, tram, and train (Gent-Dampoort). We occupy 330 square meters on the second floor.
How much?
You can choose your rate based on two variables: how often you're there, and how committed you want to be. That gives you 16 different pricing options.

HATCH: the full story (but with pictures)
Coworking for emerging architectural talent.

Rates: 16 options
Two questions define your rate: how often do you want to be here, and how stable do you want your usage to be? We offer four levels of presence—three of which are typical for coworking spaces, and a fourth one added for businesses looking to grow within the space. You can also choose between four tiers of loyalty—depending on whether flexibility or predictability is more important to you. Rates are excl. VAT and invoiced based on your selected loyalty plan.

More than just infrastructure. It’s about knowledge sharing.
You’re surrounded by people in the same field. That’s valuable experience, a sounding board, fewer headaches.
Seminar: every week we host an open seminar covering a general theme (like new regulations or technical topics), or showcasing a project.
Down The Hatch: every two weeks we host an afterwork drink—an informal gathering and a great time to check in with others.
Incidentally: you can always tap someone on the shoulder—in person or via chat. You can also browse our book or materials library for specific info.

Get off your island. That’s why.
Belgium has one of the highest architect-to-resident ratios in Europe. Yet, we have surprisingly few large architectural firms compared to our neighbours. We’re fragmented into many small practices. That speaks to ambition and pride—making a name for yourself and embracing entrepreneurship. But it also means many have to figure things out alone. That benefits neither the newcomer nor the broader perception of our field’s professionalism.
HATCH offers a home base for architects starting out, scaling up, or looking for a Ghent-based hub to complement their main office. You get context and support in your field, while fully retaining your independence. Knowledge sharing, right at the workplace. HATCH is founded on combating the “forced lone wolf” model and replacing it with structured—but optional—learning networks. Autonomy and community, that’s the balance.

A habitat for a specific species. That’s it.
HATCH is a coworking space for emerging architectural talent. Professionals from related disciplines are welcome: architects, landscape architects, engineers, contractors, designers. Everyone works side by side in a bright open-plan office. Desk clusters are designed to encourage conversation. You can retreat to one of three meeting rooms, the focus booths we call “blinders,” or the phone booths we’ve dubbed “hush boxes.” There's also a lunch area, a book and material library, and a model/photo studio.
Every coworking space shares infrastructure. That’s the baseline. HATCH goes further by also sharing specific architectural knowledge. Because we target a specific group, the shared expertise is not just entrepreneurial but also profession-specific. This creates a community that’s always evolving, with members coming and going—but the pack holds together. Precisely because of the informality and autonomy, knowledge exchange happens organically.

Shared time is time won. That’s how.
Informal, but also facilitated. We share books, samples, laser meters. There are casual lunches, but also biweekly seminars. A shared chat and afterwork drinks. A lot of conversation happens—on many levels. Unit prices and contractor contacts are exchanged. Contracts are compared. Tips for socials or websites. Our little Ghent experiment has even sparked formal collaborations between members: they take on projects together or join forces in competitions. At those moments, the network becomes almost tangible.

Ghent and beyond. A network route for the future.
Like any network, this one gets stronger with scale. More members means more robustness, and even more information flowing. More voices around the table. More advice. And you still decide for yourself what to do with it—you remain you.
Currently, there’s one location: in Ghent. It started as a bit of an experiment. We had an office that was too big, and thought sharing it might be fun. Four years later, we’ve had a fantastic ride. So much fun, knowledge, and above all, fulfilment. We’ve seen many architects and allied professionals come and go—people we’ve seen grow and thrive.
We dream of one day having a landing place in every architectural hotspot in Belgium. A portal for the learning architect, to gather knowledge and experience and build their independent career with solid support.
