Kreuken III (waaier)
Renovation of a one-family home where the ground floor unfolds like a fan.
Emptiness has become scarce, worn out by overdevelopment. A small plot sits beside a park. Previous residents mined the void, systematically filling the garden with structures.
The house improves by making it smaller. If you build less, you have to ensure it still feels generous. The ground floor is reimagined: a hallway is removed, the base of the staircase shifts direction. The rest of the floor becomes an open space, where functions fold into each other organically. At the back, the smallest possible extension appears. Like a fan, the roof flares open. High and near to low and far. The façade tilts toward the sun, reaching for the evening. And behind it all, for the first time in a long while: a garden.

Grey may come in 50 shades, but it’s still grey.
We dive into colour. A bold yet balanced palette that sparks and delights, in every season.
